Applications are invited for the post of Project Technical Support-III position in an ICMR funded project entitled “Development and application of antimycotic self-gelling probiotic powder targeting Candida albicans infections in geriatric denture wearers and oroantral communication patients” under the supervision of Dr. Ramith Ramu, Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru – 570015. The selected candidate will be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. according to JSS AHER university rules. The requisite qualifications & experience etc., are given below.
Project Title: Development and application of antimycotic self-gelling probiotic powder targeting Candida albicans infections in geriatric denture wearers and oroantral communication patients

Position: Project Technical Support-III (one position only)
Salary: Rs. 28,000/-p.m. + HRA (18%)
Duration of Project: 3 years
Essential Education qualifications: Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Medical Microbiology (minimum 70% of marks) with ONE year work experience from a recognized
institution.Desirable qualification: Persons with experience in oral swab collection, nano-formulations, microbial techniques and bacterial cell culture handling will be preferred.
Job Profile: The primary focus areas of the project are:
- Formulation and development of the thermoresponsive self-gelling probiotic powder with antimycotic activity.
- Clinical evaluation of probiotic powder against C. albicans infections in geriatric denture wearers and oroantral communication
- Writing project progress reports and manuscripts

- The completed application (hard copy) should be forwarded (posted) to The REGISTRAR, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru – 570015 on or before 2nd March 2024 along with DD (demand draft) of Rs. 200/- in favour of The Registrar, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research payable at Mysuru.
- Write “Application for Project Technical Support – III for ICMR project ID: IIRP2023-2030 ” on the envelope.
- Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete curriculum vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum vitae should contain details of the research/institute/experimental expertise and list of publications
- The shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for the physical interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
- Original certificates and self-attested copies of all certificates need to be presented before the interview for verification.
- This post is entirety temporary, and the initial appointment is for one year. Which may be extended subjected to the satisfactory performance of the candidate till the duration of the project.
- Since this is an intra-institutional project, the candidate is expected to coordinate the work between JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru.
- The post can be terminated with one month’s notice from either side
