Scientist – Gene Therapy & Cell Engineering

Responsibilities:
- Apply principles of synthetic biology to conceive, test, and optimize DNA and RNA constructs that enhance gene transfer and integration efficiency.
- Perform tissue culture and cell line maintenance, including conducting cell growth and viability assays.
- Conduct human cell transfections, transductions, generation of Plasmid and cloning, plasmid linearization, DNA isolation, and in-vitro transcription and mRNA synthesis. Execute essential assays such as PCR & NGS.
- Independently devise innovative assays and constructs for the genetic modification of human cells.
- Evaluate the feasibility and suitability of emerging technologies and products for efficient gene transfer applications.
- Analyze, document, and present experimental findings in compliance with company standards.
- Create comprehensive reports, contribute to publications, and deliver oral presentations to effectively communicate research outcomes.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
- Engage in other tasks as assigned to support the organization’s research endeavors.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, or Gene Therapy, accompanied by substantial experience in molecular biology.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant research involvement for a Master’s degree or relevant doctoral work for a Ph.D.
- Proficiency in developing Plasmid, dsDNA, and mRNA constructs, gene editing, cloning, PCR, primer design, NGS, cell culture, and cell viability assays is a must.
- Experience with electroporation and other cell transfection assays is required.
- Comprehensive exposure to gene therapy or gene editing, including viral and non-viral vector development, expertise in transfection and transduction methodologies.
- Proven ability to independently design, conduct, analyze, and present research projects.
- Effective multitasking abilities coupled with strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication aptitude.
- Comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced small company environment; adept at independent work and adaptability to evolving research priorities.
