About Team:
Candidate will be working as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific Research and Development in the Cell Biology Applications Team (CBAT). CBAT contributes towards strengthening the company’s portfolio and increasing its visibility by showcasing relevant applications for new and existing products. We generate customer-facing resources in the form of application notes, protocols, and tutorials and provide guidance on the use of our products to enhance the research experience of scientists.
Role & Responsibilities
Purpose:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is recruiting a Scientist who can foster innovation and improve customer experience through development and validation of cell culture workflows, reagents, and consumables.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for execution of assigned work under minimal supervision.
- Would be maintaining a thorough record of results in data sheets and/or lab notebooks.
- Aseptic expansion and maintenance of primary cells, stem cells, and mammalian cancer cell lines.
- Stem cell differentiation in monolayer and 3D formats.
- Pharmacological stimulation or inhibition on cell culture samples and performing appropriate downstream assays.
- Responsible for data integrity and accuracy.
Skills and Experience
- Must have Ph.D in life sciences or M.Sc. in cell biology/biotechnology or related fields with 5-6 years of research experience.
- Should be able to plan, design and execute experiments.
- Should have experience in stem cell handling and differentiation.
- Should have a clear understanding of basics of cell biology, protein biology and/or molecular biology.
- Good understanding of aseptic cell culture is expected.
- Should be a good team player, ready to learn new techniques and an innovative thinker.
- Should demonstrate proficiency in scientific writing and communication skills.
- Should have demonstrated troubleshooting skills with critical attention to detail.
- Having experience in analytical/biochemical techniques will be an advantage.
Requirements from Candidate:
Education & Experience levels:
- Ph.D degree in life sciences or Master’s degree in Cell Biology/Biotechnology or related Life Science with 5-6 years of research experience
- Applicants should have a strong background in Cell Biology
Nature of experience:
- Should have a clear understanding of basics of cell biology, cell physiology, and tissue development.
- Should be able to think and work independently to execute experiments.
Knowledge Required:
GLP, GMP, or any other certification in laboratory practices will be considered as a bonus.
