Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), an autonomous research institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and a Deemed to be University, invites applications from well-qualified candidates for engagement as Project Scientist III, purely on contract basis for a period of one year from the date of engagement which may be reviewed at the end of one year, as per functional requirement.
Annexure-I: Terms and Conditions
1. Name of the Position: Project Scientist III
2. Number of Positions: 1
3. Essential Qualification: Ph.D. Degree in Life Sciences
4. Experience: Candidates having experience in teaching (theory and laboratory courses) for students of Int. Ph.D or any such Post-graduate course in Life Sciences at reputed academic institutions will be preferred.
5. Job Description: The candidates are required to conduct the laboratory courses for the Int. Ph.D/Post-graduate degree programmes in the Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit (MBGU) and Neuroscience Unit (NSU) of the Centre. In addition, the Project Scientist will coordinate the student related academic activities of the Unit.
6. Period of Engagement:
The assignment will be purely on contract basis. The initial engagement would be for a period of one year, extendable on requirement and performance review.7. Working Hours: The selected candidates are required to work five days a week, as per the working hours of the Centre and on Saturdays, on need basis and required to mark their attendance online.
8. Age Limit: Preferably below 65 years of age as on the last date of receipt of application.
9. Remuneration: ₹78,000/- p.m. plus 27% HRA
10. Selection Procedure: A Committee will be set up to screen applications and conduct interviews towards the selection of the most suitable candidate.
11. Working facilities to be provided: Only basic facilities/infrastructure will be provided to the candidates. No Transport or Telephone/Internet facility at residence, stenographic/clerical support, etc., shall be provided.
12. Other entitlements:
12.1 Leave: Paid leave of absence will be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year is not allowed.
12.2 TA/DA: No TA/DA shall be admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion.
12.3 Accommodation/HRA: HRA will be provided.
12.4 Transport Allowance: No transport allowance.
13. Accident, Injury, etc.., during the period of engagement: The Centre shall not be responsible for any loss, accident, damage, injury suffered by the candidate whatsoever arising in or out of the execution of his/her work, including travel.
