Job Overview
IQVIA is seeking a Clinical Data Coder to join our Data Management team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive data management expertise, ensuring efficient and high-quality data management products to meet the needs of our sponsors and company. As a Clinical Data Coder, you will perform coding and data management activities, taking on leadership responsibilities as necessary. This may include acting as a Lead Coder, Data Operations Coordinator (DOC), or leading coding-related tasks for a mega trial. Apply online now to join our dynamic team.
Essential Functions
- Serve independently as a Clinical Data Coder and/or Lead Coder or DOC for one or more protocols.
- Manage delivery of coding activities and/or stand-alone coding projects throughout the study’s life cycle with minimal guidance.
- Validate and test the coding application, programming coding reports, and coding-related datasets.
- Perform comprehensive data management and coding tasks, including data review, resolving clarifications, and conducting Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation.
- Manage coding project timelines and contribute coding and project-related solutions to the DM team.
- Perform quality control procedures and assist in implementing new technology.
- Handle audit requirements for studies and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the team.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy, dental, medical, nursing, life sciences, or related field qualification or educational equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminologies, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology.
- In-depth knowledge of medical dictionaries used for coding (e.g., MedDRA, WHODD, etc.).
- Understanding of the Data Management process from study start-up through to database lock.
- Ability to exercise excellent attention to detail, act independently, and resolve problems proactively.
- Good understanding of database technologies related to data management and coding.
- Knowledge of operating procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, along with organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients.
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – State Licensure Required
