Applications are invited from Indian nationals with excellent academic and research background for the post of Junior Research Fellow on an ICMR project. Details are given below:
Position: Junior Research Fellow

Project Title: Investigation on the Cross-talk among Circadian Aberrations, Sleep Deficiency, Aging, and DNA Damage for Potential Health and Therapeutic Benefits
Job Description:
- Conducting wet lab experiments related to molecular biology and proteomics
- Documenting, analyzing, and presenting work, as well as manuscript writing
- Assisting PhD candidates in project-related experiments
- Completing any other work assigned by the Principal Investigator
Period of Appointment: The appointment will be on a purely temporary basis for 11 months, starting as soon as possible. It is extendable for another 1 year based on performance and funding.
Remuneration: INR 31,000/- per month + 8270/- HRA (27%), Total = 39,370 per month
Essential Qualifications:
- M.Tech/M.E./M.Sc./B.Tech/B.E. in any branch of life sciences with CGPA>8 (>80%) from a recognized university/institute
- 6 months of research experience in life sciences
- Qualified for any of the National Eligibility Tests – CSIR/UGC NET; GATE; DBT; ICMR
Essential Experience:
Candidates with prior research experience in the following will be preferred:
- Drosophila maintenance, fly sorting, and breeding
- Behavioral activity assays, Drosophila Activity Monitor (DAM) setup, execution, and data analysis (desirable but not mandatory)
- Protein extraction, quantification, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, and sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis
- Mammalian cell culture
Age Limit: Not more than 28 years as on the last day of application. Relaxations for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per standard government norms.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their academic records and relevant work experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated via email for the online interview by 20th Jan 2024. Please note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call for an interview. The Principal Investigator reserves the right to leave the position vacant if no suitable candidate is found.
