The ICMR-NIIH in Mumbai is currently seeking eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow. This is a temporary contract basis position under the project “Diagnostic and prognostic potential of Immunological and Molecular markers in Interstitial Lung disease (ILD) patients from Maharashtra.” The role requires expertise in Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Life Science with experience in Molecular Biology techniques and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). The selected candidate will be responsible for performing molecular and biochemical assays and interpreting the results.

Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow

Vacancy: 1 (one Post)

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- per month + 24% House Rent Allowance (HRA)

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Life Science with 2 years of research experience

Desirable Qualification: Experience in Molecular Biology techniques and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)

Job Responsibilities: Perform molecular and biochemical assay and interpretation of the results

Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years

Duration: Up to 31.05.2025

Procedure for Recruitment

2. The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the website. Further information regarding the date, time, and link of the interview will also be displayed on the website. Candidates must regularly check the website for updates.
3. Shortlisted candidates will be notified and provided with a link for online interviews. Candidates are responsible for arranging their own video call/video-conferencing facilities.
4. Selected candidates will be intimated via email or phone and must bring all the required documents in their original form for verification at the time of appointment.

Terms and Conditions

1. Age relaxation for SC/OBC/PWD and experienced candidates will be provided as per the rules.
2. The positions are on a temporary contract basis.
3. The Director and Appointing Authority reserve the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason. Correspondence regarding rejected applications will not be entertained.
4. Age, qualifications, etc. will be considered as of the date of the written test/interview.
5. The appointment can be terminated with one month notice from either side without providing any reason.
6. Since the posts are temporary, selected candidates will not have a claim for regular appointment at NIIH or continuation of their services in any other project.
7. Other allowances such as CCA, LTC, Medical Claim, and PF are not applicable.
8. Recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per project recruitment rules and must provide an undertaking before joining.
9. At the time of joining duty, candidates must bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), experience, Aadhaar Card, community, and PH certificates (if applicable), along with one set of photocopies duly attested for verification.
10. The conditions of employment will be the same as that of the project staff on a contract basis.
11. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
