About the Team: Protein Biology (Antibodies)
The team is involved in the development and validation of primary and secondary antibodies and conjugates, with a focus on reagent quality and specificity. The core activities of the team include end-to-end development of antibodies using recombinant technology, antibody engineering, and antibody validation in immunoassays such as ELISA, high-throughput and high-resolution immuno-fluorescence imaging and immunohistochemistry, Western blot, and Flow cytometry with innovative tools and technology.
Role & Responsibilities
Purpose: To develop
and test recombinant antibody products using molecular and biochemical methods and deliver high-quality products. This role requires the candidate to be meticulous in scientific experimental planning and execution. Proficiency in verbal and written communication of results in the workplace is desired.Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular biology workflows such as high-throughput molecular cloning, plasmid vector construction, PCRs, Restriction digestion, Ligation, Transformation, Mini and maxi preps etc. at a high level of proficiency
- Perform protein analysis using immunochemical techniques including ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Cell lysate preparation/western blotting
- Cellular and tissue imaging by immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry/tissue processing, and/or other biological imaging methods
- Recording results into data sheets and/or electronic notebooks
- Delivery of high-quality results, attention to detail, and schedules to support program objectives
Candidate Requirement:
Education & Experience levels:
- Applicants should have a Master’s degree with 2+ years’ experience/Ph.D. in the area of cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related life sciences.
Nature of experience:
- Project or work experience in support of the relevant skills (publications, project reports, or thesis work)
Skills:
- Sound theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with recombinant DNA technologies and molecular cloning, cell culture, transfection, basic biochemical and immunoassays such as protein expression and purification, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and immunofluorescence
- Familiar with working in a molecular and cell biology lab, with experience in handling protein expression, protein characterization, or immunoassays, and imaging workflows. Practical experience in immunohistochemistry would be preferred.
- Sound theoretical understanding of protein structure, function, and biology.
- An understanding of various protein conjugation chemistries, and working knowledge of antibody-dye conjugation techniques would be an added advantage
- Capable of crafting robust experimental plans and can work with cross-functional teams to perform technical troubleshooting.
- The successful candidate will have clear functional communication at the workplace and will be open to learning and solving new challenges.
