Job Position: Research Associate-I
Project: Role of host membrane modulation by mycobacterial membrane vesicles in evading phagosome maturation
NISER, an autonomous research institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, is seeking Indian nationals to apply for the position of Research Associate-I. The project is funded by India Alliance (DBT-Wellcome Trust) and aims to study the modulation of host membranes by mycobacterial membrane vesicles in the evasion of phagosome maturation. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of groundbreaking research in molecular biology and cell biology, with specific expertise in molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, and imaging. We encourage candidates with a PhD in any area of biological sciences or life sciences to apply.
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in any area of biological sciences or life sciences
- Strong background in molecular biology and cell biology
- Expertise in molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, and imaging
- At least one first-author peer-reviewed research article in an international journal of repute
Monthly Emoluments: ₹47,000/- pm plus HRA as per rules
The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of ₹47,000/- per month, along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per rules.
Age Limit: 35 years
The age limit for applicants is 35 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation will be applicable to entitled categories as per rules.
The position is purely temporary and will last for a period of one year or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. It is important to note that this position does not confer any right or claim for consideration or absorption against any permanent post at NISER.
