Position: Senior Research Fellow (Project)
Project Title: NII Flagship program entitled “Human Immunology Program” funded by DBT

Educational Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or M.Tech. in any area of life sciences
- Minimum two years of post M.Sc. experience
- Clearing any National Level Eligibility Test (NET/GATE etc) is mandatory
Emoluments:
Consolidated emoluments of Rs. 35,000/- per month plus 24% House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per DST OM dated 30.01.2019
Job Description & Desired Knowledge:
The selected candidate is expected to work in the NII Human Immunology Program, which is aimed at elucidating the baseline immunity in the Indian population in a steady state
. Particularly, the candidate will examine the magnitude and function of CD4+ T cells specific to SARS-CoV-2, Influenza virus, Dengue virus etc. at a single cell level using cutting-edge T-cell assays. Most of the work will utilize PBMCs and serum as the sample from individuals enrolled in this study.Interested candidates should have basic concepts of immunology and are expected to have skills in clinical research.
Hands-on experience in Flow Cytometry, Cell sorting using magnetic columns or FACS, human primary cell culture, PBMC handling, RNA isolation, quantitative real-time PCR, NGS library preparation, NGS data analysis etc. is required.
Candidates with hands-on experience in the human immunology research of vaccines or
virus infections will be preferred.
General Terms & Conditions:
- The selected candidates will be on a contract for one year or the duration of the project, whichever is shorter.
- Hostel/housing facility may be provided to female candidates.
- Applicants must specify their category (SC/ST/OBC/PH) and provide documentary proof.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview, if called for.
- In addition to the application, candidates should submit a complete Curriculum Vitae and provide the names of three referees. The CV should include details of experimental expertise and list of publications.
