HiMedia Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. is a Mumbai-based company that manufactures high-quality culture media for Microbiology, Animal cell culture and Plant tissue culture. Cell Biology division of HiMedia is looking for Quality Control Executive and Team Lead – Stem cells and Primary Cells who demonstrate leadership, problem solving skills and team spirit.

Quality Control Executive – Number of positions: 5

Role Description

This full-time Quality Control Executive role is an on-site position located in Thane.

The Quality Control Executive will be responsible for:

1. Maintenance of sterile animal cell cultures.
2. Preparation and filtration of media, seeding and counting of cells to carry out Quality Control analysis or related studies.
3. Data analysis and documentation of in-process and finished products.
4. Preparation of COAs, SOPs, Work Instructions, Test Methods and other general documents.
5. Working on projects involving product upgradations and process improvement.
6. Delivering to tight and multiple deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
7. Complaint verification studies and handling complaint from Quality perspective and supporting business.

Qualifications

Academic qualifications for the post of Quality Control Executive – M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.V.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field with a minimum of 6 months of research experience or hands-on experience of animal cell culture.

Team Lead – Stem cells and Primary Cells

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Team Lead – Stem cells and Primary Cells at HiMedia Laboratories, located in Mumbai.

The Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team, overseeing:

• Production- Responsible for standardizing and developing protocols for isolation of various types of stem cells and/ or primary cells
• Quality control of freshly isolated and cryopreserved cells and their media
• Research of stem cells and primary cells and their media for use in various fields of study.

The Team Lead will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with the management to identify opportunities for improving laboratory operations and implementing continuous improvement in quality standards and laboratory workflows.

Qualifications

Academic- Ph.D. in Life Sciences/ Cell Biology/ Biotechnology with 2-3 years of experience

Mandatory skills:

• Have expertise in the area of isolation and culture of stem cells and/or primary cells from various tissues.
• Have a good understanding of cell culture parameters like cell growth rate, cell density, viability, population doubling, etc.
