ICMR-National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health is conducting a walk-in interview for the position of Project Assistant. The institute is involved in a non-institutional ad-hoc project titled “Clinical phenotypes and genetic regulation of endometriosis in Indian women (ECGRI study)” funded by DBT Wellcome India Alliance. The project staff will be based in ICMR-NIRRCH Mumbai, Nowrosji Wadia Maternity Hospital, Mumbai, and other study sites in Mumbai.
Vacancy Details:
Title: Project Assistant
Salary: Rs.20,000/- plus 24% HRA
Qualification:
- Graduate in Science/relevant subjects from a recognized University with three years of work experience from a recognized Institution or
- Master’s degree in biological sciences/Community Health with one year of research experience from a reputed institute/university.
Required Skills:
- Experience of counseling patients and working in a hospital/clinic.
- Proficiency in internet applications and communication skills.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques will be preferred.
Age Limit: 30 years
Duration: Three Months (likely to be extended for an additional seven months after receiving approval of the funding agency)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Collaborator in the preparation of necessary documents required for Ethics Committee, progress reports, etc. under the supervision of Collaborator at participating study site.
- Coordinate project activities and implementation at participating study site.
- Assist in recruitment of study participants, data collection, data entry, quality control, etc.
- Conduct experimental work of the study, including blood separation, labeling, and monitoring the storage of clinical samples.
- Participate in video/telephone meetings with PI, Collaborators abroad, and Research team at all participating study sites to review progress and ensure adherence to protocol.
- Provide regular compliance to the Research team at PI laboratory at ICMR-NIRRCH for maintaining the centralized clinical and genomic database.
- Assist in any other works related to the project or other scientific/technical activities.

- Qualification/degree should be from a reputed Institution/University.
- Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee selection.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
- Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department / Organizations are not eligible.
- If required, a written test in the subject area will be held to shortlist candidates for the interview.
- Incomplete applications, application not submitted in prescribed format, and application without supportive documents asked for shall be summarily rejected.
- The Director & appointing authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason, and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
- Provide details of two responsible persons of your locality or two references who you are known to.
- The offer of engagement will be subject to verification of original certificates. If the candidate is found ineligible, their candidature will be canceled at any stage of the recruitment process.
