Job Summary:
As an Associate Manager – Microbiology, you will be part of Pfizer’s quality assurance and control team. Your role will involve analyzing chemical, biological, and microbiological products to support our quality programs. You will be responsible for environmental testing, utility monitoring, analytical testing, microbial identification, and sterility testing. Your expertise in Quality Control instruments will ensure accuracy against established standards and set requirements for methodology transfer from R&D.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to complex projects, meet targets, and develop plans for work activities within the team.
- Lead efforts to improve process performance, procedures, and reporting to meet quality and regulatory compliance.
- Create, review, and approve compliant test method transfer and validation protocols and reports.
- Perform tasks to maintain Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GxP) compliant Quality Control and Stability laboratories.
- Support preparation of media, receipt, storage, and handling of Bio ball cultures, and microbiology investigations.
- Perform testing of clinical and/or commercial products, raw materials, validation, stability, and Environment Monitoring samples.
- Support Laboratory Information Management System builds, testing, and managing Master Data changes.
- Review and authorize all laboratory data and have overall knowledge of laboratory operations.
- Serve on cross-functional teams, represent Quality Control, and facilitate communications and activities/projects.
- Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations, recommend corrective actions, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
- Train junior colleagues and develop training plans and/or oversee training activities for groups.
Qualifications:
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience
- Technical Skills: Experience in Microbiological and Bioanalytical assay testing, microbiological testing of water, product, raw material, and packing materials, understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, and quality assurance operations, detail-oriented with quality systems knowledge, knowledge of research unit clinical and analytical laboratory environment, excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment.
