Position: Scientist, CoE-Quality, C-CAMP InDx Program

Applications are open for the position of “Scientist” for Indigenisation of Diagnostics Program at C-CAMP. This is a hands-on scientist position responsible for laboratory activities reporting into Lead Quality CoE.

Tenure: This is a contractual position and is tenured

The C-CAMP InDx Program for Indigenisation of Diagnostics is a GOI initiative towards Atmanirbhar Bharat – Diagnostics, anchored at C-CAMP, Bangalore. C-CAMP InDx 2.0 or the National Diagnostics Catapult was recently launched with the focus on infectious diseases; Acute Undifferentiated Febrile diseases (AUF) – Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, Leptosiprosis, Typhoid, Scrub Typhus; Influenza & ILI (COVID-19, RSV) and TB.
C-CAMP InDx 2.0 is funded by The Rockefeller Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and FIND with the goal of supporting development/manufacture of indigenous technologies and diagnostic kits for infectious diseases for both clinic and environmental surveillance. Job Responsibilities:

1. Design, plan and execute experiments for projects on diagnostic of infectious diseases
2. Establish develop and validate analytical methods for testing of diagnostics
3. Perform data analysis and interpretation
4. Comply with cGLP and adopt good documentation practices
5. Prepare Reports, Tech Transfer documents, Workflows and SOPs
6. Manage procurements for laboratory activities
7. Coordinate and collaborate with InDx CoEs, member organizations and other stakeholders
8. Provide regular management updates
9. Any other as assigned

Education / Experience:

• MSc./Ph.D. in molecular biology or any related stream of biosciences with deep domain expertise and hands-on experience in assay development and optimizations preferably for diagnostics of infectious diseases. Should have at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. or 5 years of post-M.Sc. working experience in RT-PCR based molecular diagnostic for infectious diseases. Experience with antigen/antibody-based methods and point-of-care solutions such as LFAs will be preferred.
• Should have a working understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Position: Project Manager, C-CAMP InDx program

Applications are open for the position of “Project Manager” for Indigenisation of Diagnostics Program at C-CAMP. This is a manager position to coordinate and manage C-CAMP InDx processes and projects.This position reports into Lead Science &Technology, C-CAMP InDx program.

Tenure: This is a contractual position and is tenured for one year to be renewed further.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for project management of InDx processes and projects.
2. Coordinate and closely work with CoE leads/scientists/outreach across the project lifecycle.
3. Provide management updates such as monthly updates progress reports, project tracking database and any other documents as required.
4. Flag any delays/challenges in project completion.
5. Responsible for coordinating project costing and managing the lifecycle in coordination with CoE leads and operations.
6. Responsible to record all project communications and archive in project folder along with protocol, reports and supportive documents (project data management).
7. Responsible for drafting, reviewing, training and implementation of SOPs on project management and associated activities.
8. Responsible for final review of reports before submission and archival
9. Train members on SOPs and other systems and processes
10. Collaborate with scientists to develop project reports, facilitate review/approvals and final report submission.
11. Collaborate with Outreach, Operations and CoEs as required.
12. Any others as assigned.

Education / Experience:

• M.Sc./MTech/BTech in any stream of Biological Sciences/ Biotechnology with 2-3 years of project management experience with development of diagnostics or biologics. Experience with managing clinical study projects and project management tools will be preferred.
• Should have a working understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), processes and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Must be meticulous and systematic in managing data/records following best practices. Should be proficient in providing management updates/dashboards.

4. Question: How do you stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in the field of diagnostics? Answer: I regularly engage with scientific literature, attend conferences, and participate in online forums related to diagnostics and molecular biology. This keeps me informed about the latest technologies and trends in the field.
5. Question: Could you share an instance where you had to troubleshoot an unexpected issue during assay development and how you resolved it? Answer: Certainly. During an assay development, we encountered inconsistent results due to contamination. I identified potential sources, implemented stricter lab protocols, and revalidated the assay. This experience taught me the importance of meticulous lab practices and troubleshooting skills.

For Project Manager Position:

1. Question: Can you describe your experience in managing projects related to diagnostics or biologics? Answer: Of course. I have over 2-3 years of experience in project management, specifically with diagnostics. I’ve managed projects through various stages, from planning and execution to reporting, ensuring timely completion and effective communication among team members.
2. Question: How do you ensure effective communication and coordination among interdisciplinary teams in a project? Answer: I believe in clear communication channels and regular updates. I establish regular meetings to discuss progress, address concerns, and align everyone’s efforts towards project goals. Collaboration tools and documentation are also crucial for seamless coordination.
3. Question: Could you provide an example of a project where you effectively handled project delays and challenges? Answer: Certainly. In a past project, unforeseen technical issues caused delays. I immediately notified stakeholders, restructured the project plan, allocated additional resources, and successfully brought the project back on track within the given timeframe.
4. Question: How do you ensure that project documentation and records are managed systematically and in compliance with quality standards?
