WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

A Walk-in-interviews will be held on 02nd August, 2023 at Institute of Forest Biodiversity (IFB), Dulapally, Kompally (S.O.), Hyderabad, Telangana-500 100. For the positions of Junior Project Fellows (JPFs), Project Assistant (PA) and Field Assistant (FA) in the following research projects purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project period or till completion of eligible period of ICFRE norms. Interested and eligible candidates are requested to attend the walk-in-interview for the following positions

  1.  NAME OF THE POST: JUNIOR PROJECT FELLOW

Name of the Project: Preparation of Forest Soil Health Cards under different Forest Vegetation’s in all the Forest Divisions of India (AICRP-22)

Project Investigator: Dr Ruby Patel, Scientist-B

Project Period: August 2023 to Jan 2025

Essential Qualifications – First class M.Sc. in Soil Science/ Environmental Science/ Forestry /Botany/Agriculture.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  1. Computer proficiency intermediate in MS Office.
  2. Capable of extensive touring in forest areas for the collection of data/information.

Monthly Emoluments – Rs.20000/- per month+ HRA as admissable

2. NAME OF THE POST: JUNIOR PROJECT FELLOW

Name of the Project: Forest Fire Research and Knowledge Management (AICRP-14)

Essential Qualifications – First class M.Sc in (Forestry/Botany/ Agriculture with Soil Science)

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of Computer Applications/GIS.

3. PROJECT ASSISTANT

Essential Qualifications – B.Sc. (Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, Agriculture & Forestry)

Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates having experience working in the relevant Research Projects.

Monthly Emoluments – Rs.19000/-per month (Fixed)

Terms and conditions:

  1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible
  2. Upper age limit for JPF is 28 Years as on 01.06.2023 which is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Women, Physically Handicapped and 3 Years for OBC Candidates.
  3. The Position is temporary and Co-terminus with the project
  4. Recruitment for the above temporary positions is governed by rules of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education and does not guarantee subsequent employment in any Institute under the council
  5. The interested Candidates may appear before the Selection Committee with all their original certificates, mark sheets with a self-attested copy of each of it, as per the date and time given below. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk in interview
  6. Offer of Engagement to the selected candidates will be issued subject to availability of funds and approval of the Competent Authority. Tenure mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and liable to be curtailed/ extended as per decision of the Competent Authority.
  7. If it is found at any stage of the process of thereafter that the candidate doesn’t fulfil the eligibility criteria, their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning and reason whatsoever. Further, the decision of Director, IFB with regard to the selection process will be treated as find and binding to all concerned. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained by the Institute
  8. The Candidates have to strictly follow the form annexed-1 (Typed/filled) duly signed and submit on the date of Interview.
  9. The selection process may continue till late evening/ next day. Candidates are advised to come prepared accordingly

  1. For the Junior Project Fellow position in the “Preparation of Forest Soil Health Cards” project, what specific knowledge and skills do you possess in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Forestry, Botany, or Agriculture that make you suitable for this research project?
    • Answer: I have a first-class M.Sc. degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Forestry, Botany, or Agriculture. My coursework and research experience have equipped me with a solid understanding of soil science principles, environmental factors influencing forest vegetation, and forestry practices. I am capable of conducting fieldwork in forest areas and collecting data/information relevant to the project.
  2. In the “Forest Fire Research and Knowledge Management” project, what relevant knowledge and experience do you have in Forestry, Botany, Agriculture, or Soil Science that would contribute to this research? Are you familiar with any Computer Applications or GIS tools?
    • Answer: I hold a first-class M.Sc. degree in Forestry, Botany, Agriculture, with a specialization in Soil Science. Through my academic training, I have gained comprehensive knowledge of forest fire dynamics, fire ecology, and management strategies. Additionally, I am familiar with computer applications and have experience working with GIS tools, which can contribute to the knowledge management aspect of the project.
  3. As a Project Assistant involved in the “Preparation of Forest Soil Health Cards” project, how does your educational background in Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, Agriculture, and Forestry align with the objectives of the research? Have you gained any relevant experience working on similar research projects?
    • Answer: I have completed my B.Sc. degree with a focus on Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, Agriculture, and Forestry. This multidisciplinary background enables me to understand the interplay between various factors influencing forest soil health. I have gained hands-on experience in conducting fieldwork, collecting samples, and performing basic laboratory analyses. Additionally, I have prior experience working on research projects that involved studying forest ecosystems and their biodiversity.
  4. In the “Preparation of Forest Soil Health Cards” project, what specific contributions can you make as a Project Assistant? How does your prior experience align with the requirements of the project?
    • Answer: As a Project Assistant, I can actively contribute to data collection, sample processing, and assisting in the preparation of forest soil health cards. My experience working on similar research projects has provided me with a strong foundation in fieldwork techniques, data organization, and sample analysis. I am familiar with the protocols and procedures involved in the assessment of soil health parameters. Additionally, my attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team make me well-suited for this project.
