Samsung Biologics, a prominent contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has unveiled its ambitious strategy to expedite the building process of its upcoming fifth plant. Set to be operational by April 2025, this facility will be integrated into Samsung Biologics’ second Bio Campus. This new facility will have the shortest construction timeline, thanks to Samsung Biologics’ expertise and previous experience.
After its construction is finished, the new plant will increase Samsung Biologics’ capacity by 180,000 liters, solidifying its position as the largest biomanufacturer globally, with a total capacity of 784,000 liters. The plant will feature advanced automation, seamless process integration, and sustainable systems. Its versatility and ability to fulfill clients’ objectives have earned it the affectionate nickname of the “Visionary Facility.”

Once Bio Campus II reaches its final stage of development, Samsung Biologics will have an impressive combined capacity of 1.324 million litres.This strategic investment will enable Samsung Biologics to support its clients throughout the entire product lifecycle, offering expanded capacity and value in record time.
