1. Can you provide an overview of your academic background and research experience, particularly in the field of Tuberculosis research?
   • Answer: I hold a first-class Master’s degree in Life Science with two years of research experience. My academic background has equipped me with a strong foundation in life sciences and research methodologies. During my research experience, I have specifically focused on Tuberculosis research, gaining in-depth knowledge of the disease and its various aspects, including diagnosis and treatment strategies.
2. The project involves the development of a new multiplex blood-based assay for the diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Can you discuss any previous experience or expertise you have in developing diagnostic assays or working with blood-based samples?
   • Answer: Throughout my academic and research journey, I have worked on various projects involving the development of diagnostic assays and handling blood-based samples. I have hands-on experience in designing and optimizing molecular assays, including PCR-based techniques, for the detection and characterization of pathogens. I am familiar with the challenges associated with working with blood-based samples, such as sample processing, DNA/RNA extraction, and assay validation.
3. As a Scientist B, you will be responsible for conducting research in the field of Tuberculosis. Can you describe a specific research project or study related to Tuberculosis that you have contributed to and highlight your role and findings?
   • Answer: During my previous research experience, I had the opportunity to work on a study focused on investigating drug resistance patterns in Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains. My role involved collecting clinical samples, performing drug susceptibility testing, and analyzing the genetic markers associated with resistance. Through this study, we identified novel mutations in drug-resistant strains, providing valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms of resistance. My contribution to the project included experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
