NOTE: The candidates must bring their latest resume, one set of photocopy of documents in support of their educational qualification and experience along with originals and a valid ID card for verification. Candidates coming after the time slot mentioned will not be entertained.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. These short-term positions and extensions will be granted subject to the satisfactory performance of the incumbents and the tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
  2. All educational, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized
    Board/University.
  3. The experience requirement specified shall be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
  4. The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements may be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority, in the case of candidates who are otherwise suitable. In case candidates are not found suitable for the posts notified, they can be offered lower posts / lower emoluments on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.
  5. Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities. 2. By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories: (i) UR – 10 years, ii) OBC – 13 years (iii) SC/ST – 15 years 4. For Ex-servicemen up to the extent of service rendered in Defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service. 5. Age is relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time to time. 6. There is no upper age limit for the Institute employees who are treated as departmental candidates.

Minimum qualification and experience – PhD in Life Sciences/Chemical Sciences or Pharmacology or equivalent from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience – The candidate is expected to work on metabolic disease models in the drug discovery team to support ongoing discovery efforts. Experience in vivo pharmacology i.e. metabolic disease models, oral gavage, blood draw and tissue extraction is a must. Candidate should have past experience in biochemical investigations in blood; tissue histology; molecular biology techniques. Should have good writing and presentation skills. Candidates having prior experience working in drug discovery projects shall be preferred.

  1. Can you tell us about your experience in metabolic disease models and how it relates to the work you will be doing on this project? Answer: As stated in the job description, the candidate is expected to work on metabolic disease models in the drug discovery team to support ongoing discovery efforts. I have worked on various metabolic disease models such as obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver disease during my PhD. My experience in these models will enable me to understand and contribute to the project efficiently.
  2. Can you walk us through your experience in in vivo pharmacology and biochemical investigations in blood? Answer: During my PhD, I have performed various in vivo pharmacology experiments, including oral gavage, blood draw, and tissue extraction. In addition, I have conducted several biochemical investigations in blood, such as blood glucose and lipid profile, to assess the metabolic status of animals. I am confident that my experience in these areas will enable me to contribute to the project.
  3. How comfortable are you with molecular biology techniques, and how have you used them in your past research? Answer: I have experience in several molecular biology techniques, including RNA and DNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and Western blotting. During my PhD, I used these techniques to understand the molecular mechanism underlying the metabolic disease models. For example, I have analyzed gene expression changes and protein levels in different tissues to identify potential therapeutic targets for metabolic diseases.
  4. Can you discuss your experience with tissue histology, and how have you used it in your past research? Answer: As stated in the job description, the candidate should have experience in tissue histology. During my PhD, I have performed histological analysis of different tissues, including liver, adipose tissue, and pancreas. I used these techniques to assess tissue morphology and inflammation. In addition, I have used immunohistochemistry to detect specific proteins in tissues. Overall, my experience in tissue histology will enable me to contribute to the project.
  5. Can you tell us about your experience in writing and presenting scientific data? Answer: As a PhD candidate, I have written several research articles and presented my work at national and international conferences. I am comfortable presenting scientific data to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. I am confident that my experience in scientific writing and presentation will enable me to effectively communicate my work on the project.
