Hey there, looks like you are extremely interested to apply for this project vacancy at TERI, then make sure you check out the possible interview questions and the answers below
- Can you explain your experience with anaerobic culture? Answer: Anaerobic culture involves creating an environment without oxygen for the growth of microorganisms. I have experience working with anaerobic culture in my previous job where we were studying the effects of microbial communities on the decomposition of organic matter. I have worked with various techniques such as anaerobic chambers and gas-tight vessels for culturing anaerobic microbes.
- Have you worked with GC and HPLC in the past? Answer: Yes, I have experience working with Gas Chromatography (GC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) during my MSc and M Tech Biotechnology coursework. I have used GC to analyze volatile organic compounds and HPLC for analyzing complex mixtures of proteins and amino acids.
- Can you describe your knowledge of bioinformatics? Answer: I have a basic understanding of bioinformatics, which involves using computational tools to analyze biological data. During my MSc program, I took a course in bioinformatics, where I learned how to use various software tools for sequence analysis, genome annotation, and gene expression analysis.
- What molecular biology techniques have you used in your research? Answer: I have experience with several molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and DNA cloning. I have used PCR to amplify DNA sequences for further analysis, DNA sequencing to determine the sequence of a DNA molecule, and DNA cloning to create recombinant DNA molecules for use in gene expression studies.
- Can you give an example of a project you worked on in the past and your role in it? Answer: During my MSc program, I worked on a project studying the effect of different growth media on the growth of a particular bacterial strain. My role in the project was to design and perform experiments to test the growth of the bacterial strain in different growth media. I analyzed the data and prepared a report on the results, which we presented to our supervisor.
