Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Fellow (Project) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below:

Only Short listed candidates will be called for interview and they required to submit attested copies of all their certificates and a Demand Draft of Rs 100/- drawn on Canara Bank or Indian Bank payable at Delhi/New Delhi in favour of the Director, NII (SC/ST/PH and Women candidates are exempted subject to submission of documentary proof), at the time of interview.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
  2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
  3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
  4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
  5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
  6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Educational Qualifications – B.Sc in Biological Sciences or 3 Years Diploma in Engineering and Technology.

Job Description:

The candidate should have experience in molecular biology techniques, preparation of biological reagents, animal handling and lab management including the ability to do inventory. It is desirable that the candidate has worked in a similar capacity for 2 years in reputed institution or university.

Emoluments – The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience

Rs. 20,000/- per month plus 24% HRA (As per DST OM dated 30.01.2019)

  1. What molecular biology techniques are you familiar with? Answer: I have experience in techniques like PCR, RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA isolation, cloning, etc.
  2. How have you managed laboratory inventory in your previous roles? Answer: I have used various software tools for laboratory inventory management, such as Quartzy, Labguru, and Benchling.
  3. Have you worked with animals before? If so, please describe your experience. Answer: Yes, I have worked with mice before. I have experience in procedures like tail vein injection, intraperitoneal injection, and subcutaneous injection.
  4. What experience do you have with lab safety and biosafety measures? Answer: I have completed the necessary safety training and have knowledge of safety protocols for handling chemicals, biological agents, and radiation. I always follow safety guidelines while working in the lab.
  5. Can you describe a research project that you have worked on in the past? Answer: I have worked on a project related to gene expression analysis in cancer cells using qRT-PCR. I designed the primers, performed the experiments, and analyzed the data to identify differentially expressed genes.
