Hey there, looking for some possible interview questions and answers for the post of Project Associate at IISER Tirupati? Then check below
- What is your experience in molecular biology techniques like gene cloning, RNA, DNA isolation, qRT-PCR, etc.? Answer: As mentioned in my resume, I have hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques like gene cloning, RNA, DNA isolation, qRT-PCR, etc. I have worked on several projects related to gene expression analysis, gene cloning, and recombinant DNA technology. I have published research articles in reputable journals on my research in molecular biology.
- Can you describe your experience in rice growth and stress phenotyping under field conditions? Answer: I have experience in the cultivation of rice under different environmental conditions, including abiotic stress conditions. I have conducted experiments to study the effect of different stress factors on rice growth and development. I have also used different phenotyping techniques to evaluate rice plants under stress conditions.
- What is your experience in statistical analysis and data interpretation? Answer: I have experience in statistical analysis and data interpretation using various software packages, including R and SPSS. I have used these tools to analyze large data sets and draw meaningful conclusions from them.
- Can you explain how thermopriming can enhance heat stress tolerance in rice? Answer: Thermopriming is a process of exposing the plants to a low-temperature treatment for a short period, which enhances their tolerance to heat stress. This treatment leads to the upregulation of heat shock proteins, which act as chaperones and protect the plants from heat stress. The heat shock proteins also improve the plants’ ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species and stabilize membranes, thereby enhancing their heat stress tolerance.
- How do you plan to contribute to the USDA-FAS funded project on Thermopriming as a tool to enhance heat stress tolerance in rice? Answer: I plan to contribute to the project by applying my expertise in molecular biology and rice cultivation to study the effect of thermopriming on rice plants. I will help in designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting the results. I will also collaborate with other team members and contribute to the project’s overall success.
