Hey there, looking for some help with some possible interview questions and answers for the roles of Senior Research Fellows at ICT Mumbai, then check them out below.

  1. Can you describe your experience in environment-friendly and green processes for product development?
    • Answer: I have over 3 years of research experience in developing environment-friendly processes and products. During my previous projects, I have worked on optimizing chemical reactions to minimize waste and energy consumption, as well as exploring sustainable materials for product formulations.
  2. How would you approach process development for specialty or sustainable products?
    • Answer: I would start by conducting a thorough literature review to understand the current state-of-the-art in the field. Then, I would design experiments to optimize process parameters, evaluate different raw materials, and assess the environmental impact of the developed processes. Collaboration with industry partners and leveraging advanced analytical techniques would also be essential in this process.
  3. Can you provide an example of a project where you successfully implemented green technology in product development?
    • Answer: In my previous project, I worked on developing a biodegradable polymer for packaging applications. By utilizing green technology, we identified renewable raw materials, optimized the polymerization process to reduce energy consumption, and ensured the final product had minimal environmental impact throughout its lifecycle.
  4. How would you handle challenges or obstacles encountered during process development?
    • Answer: When facing challenges, I believe in a systematic approach. I would analyze the root cause of the issue, brainstorm potential solutions, and conduct experiments to evaluate their effectiveness. Collaboration with colleagues and experts in the field is also valuable to gain different perspectives and find innovative solutions.
  5. Can you describe a time when you demonstrated strong problem-solving skills in your research work?
    • Answer: In one of my research projects, we encountered unexpected results during the scale-up of a sustainable chemical process. To address this, I systematically investigated various factors that could influence the outcome, such as temperature, reaction time, and catalyst concentration. Through rigorous experimentation and analysis, I was able to identify the underlying cause and propose modifications to the process that ultimately resolved the issue.

Note: The answers provided are general examples. It’s recommended to personalize the answers based on the individual’s experience and accomplishments.
