- The candidates must download the application form annexed with this advertisement from CSIR – IMMT website and fill the application form very carefully and sign it.
- The candidates are required to send the scanned copies of the following certificates/documents as per the following order in a single pdf file to the prescribed e-mail ID specified against each postcode.
i. Application form duly completed in all respect and signed.
ii. Self attested photocopy of identity proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID Card / PAN
Card / Passport / Driving License).
iii. Self attested photocopies of all educational qualification certificates (Mark
sheets of all years/semesters and certificates).
(In case Universities/Board award letter grades/CGPA/OGPA, the candidates are
required to convert it to equivalent percentage of marks as per the norms adopted by
the University/Board and fill up the application form accordingly at appropriate
place. The candidates are required to send the self-attested photocopies of the norms
of the University/Board for conversion of grades/CGPA/OGPA to equivalent
percentage of marks along with the educational qualification certificates.)
iv. Self-attested photocopies of experience certificate(s).
v. Self-attested photocopy of NET/GATE certificate.
vi. Self-attested photocopy of “No Objection certificate” (if applicable).
vii. Self-attested Photocopy of cast certificate in the prescribed format issued by the
Competent Authority as prescribed by Government of India.

Job Requirement /Desirable Qualification: The candidate will be required to travel for onsite sample collection, collaboration and networking with other institutions, scientific writing etc.

- What specific research methods or techniques will you employ to achieve the objectives of the project? Answer: In this project, I plan to employ a combination of advanced analytical techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy to analyze lignite and acid mine drainage samples. I will also utilize molecular biology techniques to study the microbial communities involved in the remediation process. Additionally, I will conduct experiments to optimize the production of clean coal, biomethane, and biocomposites through various physicochemical and biological processes.
- Can you describe any relevant research experiences or projects that have prepared you for this position? Answer: During my master’s program, I worked on a research project focused on the bioremediation of heavy metal-contaminated water using microbial-assisted technologies. This experience allowed me to develop expertise in designing and implementing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting the results. I also collaborated with a team of researchers to assess the efficacy of different treatment strategies and contributed to scientific publications discussing our findings. This hands-on research experience has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to this project’s objectives.
- Have you conducted any research or projects related to the treatment of pollutants or the generation of clean energy? If so, please provide details. Answer: Yes, during my master’s program, I worked on a research project focused on bioremediation of contaminated soil using microbial technologies. I have also been involved in a project exploring the production of biofuels from agricultural waste.
- Are you familiar with onsite sample collection and collaborating with other institutions? Can you share any experiences in these areas? Answer: Yes, as part of my previous research projects, I have been involved in onsite sample collection from various environmental sites. Additionally, I have collaborated with researchers from different institutions to exchange knowledge and data for mutual benefit.
- Scientific writing is mentioned as a job requirement. Could you provide an example of a scientific paper or report you have written? What was the topic and what were the key findings? Answer: One of my scientific papers focused on the characterization of a novel enzyme derived from extremophilic microorganisms capable of degrading complex organic pollutants.
