INTERVIEW QUESTIONS FOR THE REGIONAL CENTRE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY PROJECT ASSISTANT JOB
👍We hope this helps in giving you a rough idea as to how to prepare for the interview for this specific role. Good luck!
- What is your experience with buffer preparation? Can you describe the process and any challenges you have faced while doing it?
Answer: Yes, I have experience in buffer preparation. Buffer preparation involves selecting appropriate buffer components, adjusting the pH, and sterilizing the solution. I have faced challenges related to maintaining pH levels and sterility during the preparation.
- Explain the role of protein biochemistry in this project? How will you apply your theoretical understanding of protein biochemistry in tracking protein dynamics in cells?
Answer: Protein biochemistry helps in understanding the structure and function of proteins in cells. In this project, we will be tracking protein dynamics in cells, which involves studying the changes in protein expression, localization, and interaction over time. My theoretical understanding of protein biochemistry will help me design experiments, analyze the results, and interpret the data.
- Have you worked with mammalian cell culture techniques before? Can you describe the process and any challenges you have faced while doing it?
Answer: Yes, I have worked with mammalian cell culture techniques before. Mammalian cell culture involves growing cells in a controlled environment to maintain their viability and functionality. I have faced challenges related to contamination, media preparation, and maintaining cell health during passaging.
- What is your experience with spectrophotometry-based assays? Can you describe the principle behind spectrophotometry and how it is used to quantify protein concentration?
Answer: I have experience with spectrophotometry-based assays. Spectrophotometry is a technique used to measure the absorbance or transmission of light through a solution. It is used to quantify protein concentration by measuring the absorbance of a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by the protein. The amount of light absorbed is directly proportional to the protein concentration.
- Can you describe a project where you had to work as a team player? What was your role, and how did you contribute to the project’s success?
Answer: Yes, I worked on a project where we had to investigate the effect of a drug on cancer cells. My role was to design and perform experiments to measure the drug’s efficacy in inhibiting cell growth. I also collaborated with my team members to analyze the data and present the findings. I contributed to the project’s success by communicating effectively, sharing ideas, and addressing any challenges that arose during the project.
