Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Fellow (Project) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below:

General Terms & Conditions

  1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
  2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
  3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
  4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
  5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
  6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Educational Qualifications

Senior Research Fellow (Project): M.Sc or M. Tech. in any branch of Biology/Life Science with a minimum of two years of research experience. The candidate should have qualified for any ‘National Level Examination’ as per DST OM dated 21.10.2014.

Job Description:

Post-1- Formulation development; Protein Expression and purification, generating nano and microparticles of antigens along with adjuvants. Characterization of nano/ micro particles. Mouse immunizations, testing the quality/type of immune response generated. Sporozoite neutralization assays, Sporozoite intravenous challenge and qPCR analysis of parasite load.

Post-2- Immune response analysis; Characterization of immune response generated, ELISA, FACS analyses, T cell purification, stimulation and cytokine analysis, ELISPOT, Antibody purification, Sporozoite intravenous challenge and qPCR analysis of parasite load.

Emoluments – The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments of Rs. 35,000/- per month plus 24% HRA (As sanctioned by the funding agency).

  1. What is your educational background, and how does it relate to this position? Answer: I have a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, and I have completed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which meets the criteria for this position.
  2. Have you worked on any research projects before? Can you describe your research experience in brief? Answer: Yes, I have worked on several research projects during my Master’s program. My research projects were focused on studying the molecular mechanisms of certain diseases and the development of vaccines against them.
  3. What are your technical skills related to this position? Answer: My technical skills include protein expression and purification, ELISA, FACS analyses, T cell purification, stimulation and cytokine analysis, and ELISPOT.
  4. Can you explain your understanding of the project and its objectives? Answer: The project’s primary objective is to develop a multi-stage malaria vaccine candidate for the prevention of Plasmodium falciparum infection in mosquitoes and pre-erythrocytic development in humans. My role in this project is to work on Formulation development and Characterization of nano/microparticles.
  5. What is your experience with animal experimentation, particularly with mice? Answer: I have worked with mice in the past for vaccine development studies. I have experience in mouse immunizations and testing the quality/type of immune response generated, sporozoite neutralization assays, sporozoite intravenous challenge, and qPCR analysis of parasite load. I understand the ethical considerations and protocols for working with animals and have followed them in my previous projects.
