Academic Council of ICMR-NICED, Kolkata will hold a Walk-in-interview to select Junior Research Fellows who are interested to work at the Institute with their own fellowship.

How to Apply –
Candidates fulfilling the above eligibility criteria may report on the date of the interview along with an application in the prescribed format (attached as Annexure I) affixing a recent passport size photograph and attaching Bio-data showing academic records, and work experiences, along with self-attested copies
of relevant certificates for the Walk-in-Interview at the below-given address.- Date of the Interview – 02.05.2023
- Reporting Time For Registration & Screening – 09:00 AM
- Time of the Interview – 11.00 A.M.
- Venue – ICMR-National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases (NICED II Building within ID & BG Hospital Campus) P-33. C.I.T. Road, Scheme – XM, Beliaghata, Kolkata – 700010.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES –
- Candidates will have to Bring the filled In application with him/her with one set of photocopies of qualification and experience and other testimonials along with a photograph as mentioned above.
- Candidate should submit all certificates/ testimonials in original for verification. Candidates who fail to bring the Original Certificates will not be considered for written test/walk-in-interview.
- The engagement may be extended after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
- The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments or continuation of his/her services in the same or any other project.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
- The Director, ICMR-NICED reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NICED website which will be updated from time to time.
- The date of the walk-in interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check the website before appearing for the walk-in interview.
Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. First Class in any branch of Life Sciences with CSIR-UGC NET/DBT/ICMR qualified with own fellowship.
Remuneration – Selected candidates will have to work in laboratories under concerned scientists at ICMR-NICED at his /her own fellowship grant.

- What experience do you have working in a laboratory?
Answer: I have worked in various research projects during my M.Sc. program and I have hands-on experience in various techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, etc. - What are your research interests?
Answer: My research interests are in the field of immunology and infectious diseases, and I am specifically interested in studying the host-pathogen interactions during infections. - How will you fund your fellowship grant?
Answer: I have applied for various fellowship grants such as CSIR-UGC NET/DBT/ICMR and I am currently waiting for the results. If selected, I will fund my fellowship grant through the respective agency. - Can you explain a research project you have worked on previously?
Answer: I have worked on a project related to the development of a vaccine for malaria during my M.Sc. program. My role in the project was to purify and characterize the recombinant proteins used in the vaccine formulation. The project involved various techniques such as protein expression and purification, enzyme assays, and animal studies.
