About the job
We are looking for a candidate with proficient knowledge and hands on experience in sequencing techniques, library preparation, which include
- Basic molecular biology techniques like DNA, RNA isolation (from blood, saliva, FFPE tissues), cfDNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, microarray assay development and optimization.
- Custom NGS panel development, optimization and development of new SOP’s
- Preparation of samples/ library preparation for transcriptome and genome sequencing, genotyping and handling NGS instruments.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads for NGS services
- Lead initiatives to design, develop, improvise protocols, and validate new products for detection of human germ line and somatic variations.
- Execute projects in a time bound manner & ensure Quality Assurance.
- Implement bimolecular solutions that meet requirements in terms of data quality, scalability and cost effectiveness
- Address and resolve customer specific issues if any, promptly.
- Provide technical support for business development
- Manage and coordinate experimental laboratory facilities (including equipment, inventory of laboratory consumables and non-consumables) and SOPs maintenance.
- Should work in collaboration with the physicians, clinical genomics, biomedical informatics teams and provide technical guidance to other R&D team members.

Qualifications
- Masters in Science with at least 5 years of experience in the latest Molecular biology techniques, protein biology and NGS technologies or
- Ph.D. in molecular biology with minimum 2 years of Hands-on experience in NGS technologies.
- Good troubleshooting skills, effective time management, attention to detail, ability to work independently.
- Good theoretical and scientific knowledge in molecular biology
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Good documentation skills.

This involved developing a custom NGS panel and optimizing library preparation protocols for detecting low-frequency somatic mutations. We were able to successfully identify somatic variations in a group of patients, and our results were published in a peer-reviewed journal.
- How do you stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in molecular biology? Answer: I attend conferences, read scientific journals and publications, and participate in online forums and discussions to stay current with the latest developments in the field. I also collaborate with other scientists and researchers to learn from their experiences and expertise.
