General Terms & Conditions –
- The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or the duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
- No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
- Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview if called for.
- Apart from sending applications in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and a list of publications.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
Educational Qualifications – B.Sc in life sciences or related field (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany, etc.).
Desirable Qualifications: The selected candidate is expected to travel to the wastewater treatment plants in the Delhi-NCR region and collect samples according to a laid down SOP. So, candidates having experience in collecting biological or environmental samples for testing will be preferred. Candidates who have prior experience working in a biological sciences laboratory will be given preference. The candidates must highlight their experience in sample collection in their CV. They are also required to provide documentary evidence of their experience from past employers.
Emoluments – Rs.20,000/- per month plus 24% HRA (as per DST revised OM dated 10.07.2020)

- Answer: I have prior experience in collecting wastewater samples for testing as a part of my Bachelor’s degree project, and I have also worked as an intern at a research institute where I was responsible for collecting samples for research studies.
- Can you describe the standard operating procedures (SOP) for collecting wastewater samples?
- Answer: The standard operating procedures for collecting wastewater samples involve the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), sterile containers for collecting samples, and maintaining proper storage and transportation conditions to prevent contamination of samples. Additionally, it involves following proper safety guidelines while working with wastewater.
- How do you plan to manage and maintain the collected samples during transportation to the laboratory?
- Answer: During transportation, I plan to ensure that the samples are kept at the required temperature to maintain the integrity of the samples. I will also label the samples properly and store them in a secure location to prevent any damage during transit.
- What steps would you take to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the collection of wastewater samples?
- Answer: If any issues arise during the collection of wastewater samples, I would first consult the standard operating procedures to determine the appropriate course of action. If the issue is not resolved, I would consult with my supervisor and follow their instructions to ensure that the sample collection process proceeds smoothly.
- Can you describe any techniques that you have used for analyzing environmental samples in the past?
- Answer: I have used techniques such as PCR and ELISA to analyze environmental samples in the past. I am also familiar with the preparation of buffers, reagents, and other solutions required for sample analysis.
