INTERVIEW QUESTIONS FOR THE REGIONAL CENTRE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY PROJECT JRF JOB
👍We hope this helps in giving you a rough idea as to how to prepare for the interview for this specific role. Good luck!
- Can you tell us about your experience with blood cell isolation and processing techniques?
Answer: Yes, I have hands-on experience in blood-cell isolation and processing techniques such as Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, Buffy coat isolation, and Red blood cell lysis. - How comfortable are you with handling small animals?
Answer: I have previous experience in handling small animals such as mice and rats during my master’s thesis project. I am also familiar with their anatomy, physiology, and behaviour. - What are the steps you would take to perform an immunoblotting analysis?
Answer: The first step is to prepare the protein sample by extracting it from the tissue or cell lysate and quantifying it using Bradford assay. Then, the sample is subjected to electrophoresis and transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane. After blocking the membrane, it is incubated with primary and secondary antibodies, followed by signal detection using chemiluminescence. - How familiar are you with PCR techniques?
Answer: I have experience in designing and performing PCR reactions, including reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR), quantitative PCR (qPCR), and endpoint PCR. I am also familiar with gel electrophoresis and DNA sequencing. - Can you explain flow cytometry analysis?
Answer: Flow cytometry is a technique that uses laser-based technology to measure and analyze the physical and chemical properties of cells and particles in a fluid suspension. It measures characteristics such as size, shape, granularity, and fluorescence. The collected data can be used for cell sorting, cell cycle analysis, and immunophenotyping.
