Walk-in-interview will be conducted on 12.04.2023 for the following vacancy under a Non-Institutional ad-hoc project to be held at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, J.M. Street, Parel, Mumbai 400012 (Time: 11 am to 1 pm). Reporting time: 10:30 am.

- Candidates who wish to appear for the above-mentioned post may download the application form from the website of ICMR-NIRRCH, Mumbai. Candidates are requested to fill out the application form and bring all the original certificates of educational qualification (Certificate/Statement of marks), experience certificates, etc., along with one set of xerox of the same duly self-attested and a recent passport-size photograph for attending a walk-in interview. No need to send the hard copy of the application form to ICMR-NIRRCH, Mumbai by post.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST /OBC/PWD Candidates will be as per the government rules.
- Qualification/degree ought to be from a reputable Institution/University.
- Mere fulfilling the crucial qualification/experience doesn’t guarantee choice.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
- Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department / Organization are not eligible.
- If required, a written test in the subject area will be held to shortlist candidates for the interview depending upon the number of candidates.
- It may be mentioned here that incomplete applications, applications not submitted in the prescribed format and applications without supportive documents asked for shall be summarily rejected
- The Director & appointing authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.

- The offer of engagement will be subject to verification of original certificates as per the advertisement. If the candidate is not eligible, his / her candidature will be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment process. If the candidate qualifies in the selection process and subsequently, it is found that he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria, his / her candidature will be cancelled and if appointed, services so obtained will be terminated without any notice or compensation.

Stipend – Rs. 32,000/- pm
Essential Qualification – Graduate in Life Sciences/Computer Sciences /relevant subjects from a recognized university with five years of work experience from a recognized institution
or
Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Computer Sciences /relevant subjects.
Desirable Qualification – Experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms. Knowledge of languages (like Perl, R, Python etc.), web development /NGS/ Proteomics analysis, systems biology and structural bioinformatics. Candidates must have good communication skills.

- Can you tell us about your experience with machine learning algorithms and how it relates to predicting psychological distress and postpartum depression?
Answer: I have experience working with machine learning algorithms during my Master’s program. I have also worked on a project that involved using machine learning algorithms. While I haven’t worked specifically on predicting psychological distress and postpartum depression, I believe my skills in machine learning can be applied to this project. - How would you handle a situation where your machine learning model is not performing as expected?
Answer: I would first analyze the data to understand if there are any issues with the quality or quantity of the data. If the data is fine, then I would try tweaking the hyperparameters of the machine learning algorithm or try using a different algorithm altogether. I would also consult with my team members to get their input on how to improve the model. - What do you think are the most important skills for a Project Technical Officer to have?
Answer: I believe a Project Technical Officer should have good communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders. They should also have strong project management skills to ensure that the project is completed within the given timeline and budget. In addition, having a strong technical background in relevant fields is important to effectively lead a technical team. - Can you give an example of a project you have led in the past and how you managed it?
Answer: I led a project during my time as a graduate student where we developed a recommendation system for a music streaming platform. I managed the project by dividing the work into smaller tasks and assigning them to team members based on their strengths. I set clear timelines and communicated with the team regularly to ensure that the project was progressing as planned. I also worked closely with the client to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into the project. - How do you keep yourself updated with the latest developments in your field?
Answer: I regularly read research papers and attend conferences in my field to stay up to date with the latest developments. I also follow relevant blogs and social media accounts to stay informed. Additionally, I enjoy taking online courses and participating in online forums to learn from experts and peers in my field.
