Applications are invited from suitable candidates to fill the following position at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
Post I
Post Code: Senior Project Associate (1 Position),
Project: Therapeutic protein production in milk of farm animals to increase their affordability.
PI: Dr. Nirmalya Ganguli.

Eligibility:
For Senior Project Associate (1 Positions):
Master’s Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) from a recognized university or equivalent along with 4 years of experience in Research and Development in Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations. or Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) from a recognized university or equivalent. Candidates with experience in any of the following will be preferred.
Experience: (Candidate with prior experience in any of the
following areas will be preferred.)- Isolation and culture of mice/goat oocyte. In-vitro fertilisation of mice/goat oocyte.
- Retrieval of mice embryo followed by microinjection of the embryo. Embryo transfer in
pseudo pregnant female mice. - Handling and experimentation on rodent and goat models.
- Generation of an expression vector for genome editing (knock-out and knock-in) using
CRISP – Cas9 tools, - Regulation of gene expression by shRNA-mediated knockdown,
- Cell sorting by FACS/MACS, single cell sorting and generation of cell lines,
- Isolation and culture of Stem cells, transfection and maintenance of stem cells, generation of iPSC, isolation and culture of cells from different tissue sources,
- Various molecular biology techniques, like RT-PCR, QRT-PCR, Immuno histochemistry, Immune cytochemistry, Droplet Digital PCR, protein purification and western blot analysis,
- Generation of an expression vector by molecular cloning and its in-vitro characterization, culture and maintenance of cell lines,
Fellowship amount: Rs. 42000/- PM + HRA as per the DST guidelines dated 10th July 2020.
Age: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions).

Project: Development of transgenic chicken as bioreactor for easy and cost effective production of human therapeutic proteins – tissue plasminogen activator (htPA) and erythropoietin (hERP).
PI: Dr. Nirmalya Ganguli.

Eligibility:
For Senior Research Fellow (1 Position):
Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc. with 2 years duration) with 3 years of bachelor’s degree and NET qualification along with 2 years of research experience in any of the following.
Experience: (Candidate with prior experience in any of the following areas will be preferred.)
- Various molecular biology techniques, like RT-PCR, QRT-PCR, Immuno histochemistry, Immune cytochemistry, Droplet Digital PCR, protein purification and western blot analysis,
- Generation of an expression vector by molecular cloning and its in-vitro characterisation,
culture and maintenance of cell lines, - Generation of an expression vector for genome editing (knock-out and knock-in) using
CRISP – Cas9 tools, - Regulation of gene expression by shRNA-mediated knockdown,
- Cell sorting by FACS/MACS, single cell sorting and generation of cell lines,
- Isolation and culture of Stem cells, transfection and maintenance of stem cells,
generation of iPSC, isolation and culture of cells from different tissue sources, - Signal Transduction study by functional genomics.
- Handling and experimentation on rodent and goat models,
Fellowship amount: Rs. 31000/- PM + HRA for candidates with National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification.
Age: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions).

Suitable candidates will be screened, intimated through email and interviewed by a duly constituted selection committee online through zoom meetings/google meet/skype.
