Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following project positions

Name of the Post –

1. Project Associate-II: Bioinformatics (APPLY ONLINE)
2. Project Associate-II: Wet lab (APPLY ONLINE)

No. of Posts – 01 position each

Name of the Project – “National Wastewater Surveillance System for COVID-19”.

Principal Investigator – Dr. P.Prasad, Scientist-E, ILS, Bhubaneswar

Age Limit – The candidate should be below 35 years of age as of 13.03.2023. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India rules.

Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- per month + @16% HRA

Job Specification:

1. Position 1 – The person should be responsible for analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
2. Position 2 – To carry out nucleic acid extraction from sewage samples, library preparation, and performing next-generation sequencing.

Eligibility & Selection: Candidates having a Master’s degree in natural or agricultural sciences/ M.V.Sc. or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services are eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE/GPAT) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines. For bioinformaticians, the knowledge of programming language, R-Bioconductor, and NGS data analysis along with research experience will be preferred.
