CALL FOR RESEARCH STAFF POSITION
Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Associate-1 in a time-bound research project for a temporary period purely on contractual basis as per the following details:
Position – Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate-1
Number of Vacancies – 01
Name of the Project – Understanding the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease via regulating mitochondrial dynamics
Funding Agency – Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
Principal Investigators (PI) – Dr. Meghana Tare, Department of Biological Sciences
Project Tenure – 3 Years
Upper Age Limit – Age not exceeding 35 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC/WOMEN candidates.

Registration for PhD.: Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full-time PhD program at BITS, Pilani as per the institute norms.
Essential Qualification: Master of Science (M.Sc.)/ME/MTech degree either in or in Biology, Life Sciences or in a related field with excellent academic performance record. Candidates with hands-on experience in fly labs will be given preference over others.
Desirable – GATE/NET qualified
Job Description – JRF will carry out the experiments using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism for Parkinson’s Disease.
Fellowship –
- 31,000/- (initially first two years) and Rs 35,000 (afterwards till the end of the project) per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- 25,000/-(initially first two years) and Rs 28,000 (afterwards till the end of the project) per month for non-NET/GATE qualified candidates.
