Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the following post on a contract basis for the SERB-funded project entitled “Neurosteroids and Mood Disorders: Investigating the Role of Glucocorticoid System in Modulating the Effects of Finasteride” – under the guidance of Dr. BN Srikumar, Additional Professor, Department of Neurophysiology & Principal Investigator and Dr. BS Shankaranarayana Rao, Professor of Neurophysiology & Co-Principal Investigator.

Max Age Limit – 28 years (Age may be relaxed for exceptionally meritorious
candidates)Duration of employment – Initial appointment will be made for one year, extendable up to 2 years or till the end of the project, based on the performance of the candidate.

Emoluments – Rs.31,000/- + 24% HRA
Educational Qualification – MPhil in Neurophysiology / Neurosciences OR Master’s Degree in Neurosciences / Physiology / Life Sciences / M. S. (Pharm) or M. Pharm. in Pharmacology or Biotechnology or equivalent Master’s degree with a good academic record
Research Experience – 2 years of Research experience in Neurophysiology / Neuroscience / Neuropsychopharmacology.
Desirable Experience – Experience in evaluation of behaviours in rodents, exvivo electrophysiology, pharmacological assessment, stereotactic surgery in rodents, and neurohistology.
