Funding Agency – National Agricultural Science Fund (NASF)- ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research)
Tenure of the post – 1 year, extendable based on performance up to 3 years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier.
Age Max – SRF: 32 years (max) with 3-5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically disabled as per government norms.

- A candidate can apply to multiple projects and this has to be indicated in the email. No separate application is required for different projects.
- The application should attach a detailed resume with sufficient information of past research work, a one-page statement of interest in biological research. Please include contact details (phone number, email and postal address), a photograph, scanned copies of educational/professional qualifications and reprints of papers. Applications failing to the meet minimum criteria will not be considered. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
- The shortlisted candidates will be informed of the details of the interview date and time by email.
- Applicants must bring all certificates (original + one copy) at the time of joining for the purpose of verification and a photocopy of the same will need to be submitted.

Fellowship amount – Rs. 31,000 + HRA as applicable
Minimum Educational qualification (as prescribed by the financing agency) –
- Ph.D. in any area of biological/life sciences.
OR - Master degree in any area of biological/life sciences with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree.
OR - Candidates having a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master degree should have qualified NET* or equivalent examination.
OR - Master’s degree holders with integrated degrees (5 years) like B.Tech & M.Tech with specialization in biological/life sciences.
NET* – As regards, NET examination, the candidate should have qualified any national-level examination conducted by the Central Govt. Departments/agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme are considered as NET for the purpose of RA/SRF. The following are some of the NET examinations:
CSIR-CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test.
MHRD-Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering admission.
DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bioinformatics by Bioinformatics National Consortium.
DAE-JEST & JGEEBILS, NBHM.
ICMR-JRF Entrance Examination.
ICAR-Test conducted by ICAR for admission to Ph.D. programme. DoP-GPAT.
Preference – The candidate should be highly motivated to do basic research in biology. Academically excellent candidate with technical proficiency in recombinant DNA(rDNA) technology especially in cloning, designing and making gene constructs, and growing and managing plants. Prior research experience in the above skill areas is preferable but not mandatory. This may be considered as criteria for shortlisting if many applications are received.
