Name of the Position – Technician – I (Animal Health)

Description – NDDB offers an excellent learning environment with considerable freedom for creative and innovative activities. We are looking for a young and energetic Technician for the R&D Laboratory in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Designation – Technician – I
Location – Hyderabad and the candidates should be ready to work anywhere in India.
Candidates with a domicile state as Telangana will be eligible for the assignment.
Age Limit – Candidates above 28 years of age as on 01 September 2022 need not apply.
Profile Summary – To assist in research and development activities related to bovine disease diagnosis and control of bovine diseases.
Key Roles & Responsibility –
- Cell culture and Maintenance: MDBK, bT cell lines and others (need-based)
- Processing of clinical specimens for isolation of bovine viruses
- Conformation of virus isolates by relevant assays
- Nucleic acid extraction
- Molecular confirmation and characterization of the virus isolate
- Sequencing and Phylogenetic analysis
- Repository maintenance: viral isolates and serum (Characterization and Banking)
- Technical assistance in standardization and validation of new methodologies/assays
- Support in documentation and record-keeping for the maintenance of quality management systems as per international standards
- Any other scientific, technical and documentation assistance may be required.
Qualification & Experience –
- Postgraduate degree (M.Sc./M. Tech.) in Microbiology/Biotechnology.
- The candidate should have a minimum of 2 – 4 years of laboratory experience after obtaining post-graduate degree.
Other Essential Attributes and Skills
Technical:
- Expertise in laboratory techniques viz., virus isolation, nucleic acid extraction, molecular biological techniques (PCR, real-time PCRs, Cloning, expression and protein purification), and cell culture.
- Good Microbiological practices and procedures, biosafety and biosecurity procedures.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
Managerial:
- The candidate should be able to work effectively in a team
- Plan, schedule and execute the work assigned for timely and effective completion
- Should have a strong aptitude for learning and research
- Should be self-motivated, dedicated and hardworking
- Should orient self to the organizational goals, requirements and values.
Duration –
- The position is on fixed-term employment for a period of 5 years which is renewable.
