Position: Animal Care and Resource Center Facility Trainee
The Bangalore Bio-Cluster Animal Care and Resource Center Engineering Facility is looking for a new Facility Trainee.
Qualification & Experience: BE/B.Tech/M.Pharma/Masters in any biological sciences discipline with a minimum of one year of experience in Laboratory animal management.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the routine animal husbandry and welfare activities of animal caretakers/support staff and students.
- Assist veterinarians in providing orientation and training of new students/animal users/caretaker staff in the proper use of Animal facilities, humane handling of animals, implementing the SOPs and assisting ongoing research work.
- Training and Assisting the users in surgical procedures, anaesthesia, analgesia, breeding and maintenance of animal colonies; weaning, sexing, tail biopsies for genotyping, producing timed pregnant females, packing live animal shipments for export, receiving live animal shipments, quarantine procedures, euthanasia etc.
- Assisting the Mouse Genome Engineering staff in various related molecular biology procedures and/or animal surgeries.
- Assist veterinarians in the process of importing and export of live laboratory animals, and quarterly animal health monitoring programs.
- Record keeping as per CPCSEA guidelines.
- The Animal Facility is an essential service, so the selected Facility Assistants must be ready to work in shifts during Week-Ends and holidays when required as per the Veterinarian’s instructions.
Pay Scale: As per Govt. norms based on experience and qualification.

Position: Mouse Genome Engineering Facility Assistant
The Bangalore Bio-Cluster Mouse Genome Engineering Facility is looking for a new Facility Assistant.
Qualification & Experience: BE/B.Tech/M.Pharma/Master’s in any biological sciences with prior experience in handling of laboratory mice/rats, knowledge/experience in sperm and embryo handling is desirable. Excellent organization, recordkeeping, and English communication skills are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and participate in the daily operations of the mouse genome engineering facility providing rederivation, In Vitro Fertilization, genotyping, Mouse sperm and embryo cryopreservation and breeding services
- Colony management, post-surgical animal monitoring and care
- Maintenance of cryo database on animal Colony management software
- Accurate recording keeping as per Standard Operative Procedures.
- Communicating project status and results with clients.
