WALK-IN INTERVIEW

Candidates are invited to attend the Walk-In Interview / Written Test between 9.30 AM to 10.00 AM for project posts under the various projects on a contract basis as detailed below (please refer Website for changes if any in the date of interview).

Post I

Position – Project Scientist – C (Medical/ Non-medical)*

Posts – 01 (UR)

Project Title – Strengthening laboratory surveillance for pneumococcal meningitis in India to understand the impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) rollout (BMGF)

Place of Interview – ICMR – NIE

Date of interview – 12.09.2022

Duration – Six Months (May be extended based on satisfactory performance and continuation of the project)

Age – 40 Years

Note* – If no suitable candidate is found

at Scientist ‘C’ level, the post may be filled up at one level below i.e. Scientist ‘B’ level.

Post II

Position – Project Scientist – C (Non-medical)*

Posts – 01 (UR)

Project Title – Improving efficiency of vaccination systems in multiple states in India – Hospital Based Sentinel Surveillance for S. pneumoniae and other Invasive Bacterial Disease (UNDP)

Place of Interview – ICMR – NIE

Date of interview – 14.09.2022

Duration – Six Months (May be extended based on satisfactory performance and continuation of the project)

Age – 40 Years

Note* – If no suitable candidate is found at Scientist ‘C’ level, the post may be filled up at one level below i.e. Scientist ‘B’ level.

Post III

Position – Project Technical Officer

Posts – 01 (UR)

Project Title – Immune response of precautionary third dose of COVISHIELD/COVAXIN among healthy adult population: an ICMR Cohort Study, India

Place of Interview – ICMR – NIE

Date of interview – 19.09.2022

Duration – Six Months (May be extended based on satisfactory performance and continuation of the project)

Age – 30 Years

Instructions to the candidates for Walk in Interview

1. Please bring the filled-in application with one set of photocopies of qualification and experience and other testimonials.
2. Candidate should submit all certificates/testimonials in original for verification. Candidates who fail to bring the Original Certificates for the written test / Interview will not be considered.
3. Age relaxation is admissible in respect of OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, and Departmental Candidates (including projects) in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time.
4. Experience certificates should clearly indicate the nature of duty during the period of employment. Appointment order, pay slip and offer of appointment will not be accepted in place of the experience certificate. Experience certificate should contain salary per month and duration.
5. No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
6. The above-said post is Contractual for the duration offered. The appointment may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
7. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIE/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
8. TA/DA will not be paid by NIE for attending the written test/interview.
9. The Director, ICMR-NIE reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
10. Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NIE website (Careers) which will be updated from time to time.
11. The date of Walk-in-Interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence,
    candidates are advised to check the website before appearing Walk-in-Interview.

The Director/Selection Committee has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.

For Post I

Remuneration – Rs. 51,000/- Plus HRA per month

Essential Qualification –

1st Class Master’s Degree in Epidemiology/ Data Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology with 4 years of public health/ medical research experience
OR
2nd Class Master’s Degree in Epidemiology/ Data Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology + PhD with 4 years of public health/ medical research experience.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience –

• Proven experience in scientific writing communication as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed PubMed indexed journals.
• Post-Doctoral Research in infectious disease epidemiology/ vaccine-preventable disease research in recognized institutes.
• Working knowledge of Statistical Packages.

Nature of Duties –

• Should network with hospital sites, and regional & national reference laboratories to ensure smooth conduct of surveillance activities under the project.
• Should contribute to grant administration and fund management.
• Should organize meetings/ workshops/ training programs
• Should undertake M&E visits to surveillance sites
• Should prepare periodic/ interim/ final reports based on the study findings.
• Should work closely with all other staff/ investigators involved in this project to ensure project deliverables are achieved in time.
• Should independently and as part of the project team develop and contribute to manuscripts based on study data for publication in peer-reviewed research journals
• Any other work assigned by the Director/ PI/ CoPI/Supervisory Officer.

For Post II

Essential Qualification –

Graduate degree in Sociology/ Social Science/ Social work/ Life Science from recognized
university with five years of work experience in public health project/health care management from a recognized institution
(OR)
Master’s degree in Sociology/ Social science/ social work/ Life Science/ Public Health/
Epidemiology from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience –

• Knowledge of computer applications
• Use of Statistical packages in handling large the volume of Health Data
• Monitoring data set
• Data management and data analysis using statistical software such as SPSS & Stata, R.
• Experience in working as part of a research project team

Nature of Duties –

• Collect clinical data of study participants
• Conduct interviews
• Documentation and maintain all project records
• Perform any other work assigned by PI/ Co-PI/ Supervisor Officer/ Director.
