Number of Positions – One

Name of the Project – “Targeted editing of potato genome to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPS)”

Duration – up to 31.10.2022

Age Limit – Less than 40 and 45 years for male and female candidates respectively.

Application Instructions –

Candidates will be shortlisted as per academic qualifications and research experience strictly relevant to the project. The shortlisted candidates, the list will be displayed on notice board of the departmental website and, will be informed by e-mail also. The interview will be held on 28 .03.2022 at 2:00 pm in the Office of the

Chairperson, Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The report along with the original certificates. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Emoluments – Rs 47,000 p.m plus HRA as per ICAR guidelines

Educational Qualification –

1. M.Sc/MTech degree in Biotechnology/Life sciences with at least 60 % marks.
2. Ph.D in Biotechnology

Desirable Qualification – Research experience in genetic engineering and gene editing in plants as evidenced from published research papers in genomic editing, plant
transformation, novel vector development etc.
