Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – PhD in any discipline of biological or medical sciences with two years post-doctoral experience in Metabolic Disease Research.
Desirable Experience –
- The candidate is expected to study the molecular and physiological basis of metabolic diseases in human and/or rodent and cellular models.
- Expertise with a detailed understanding of tissue-specific alterations in metabolic
derangements involving but not limited to heart, liver, muscle, adipose and pancreas. - Post-doctoral experience in a metabolic disease laboratory either in academia and/or
the industry is desired. Research experience in metabolic diseases with strong publications in peer-reviewed journals as a postdoctoral fellow.
Job Specification – The candidate is expected to conduct independent research in the field of Metabolic disease biology. The candidate needs to collaborate with veterinarians, physician-scientists, molecular and cell biologists of the institute, and hence a working knowledge of these techniques will be preferred.

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – Ph.D in Physics / Chemistry / Biology with two years of postdoctoral experience in the field of CryoElectron Microscopy
and Computational Image Processing.
Desirable Experience –
- The candidate is expected to have a strong understanding of Cryo-EM experimentations and best practice knowledge of computational image processing and analysis of cryo-EM
images. - Experience in cryotomography and electron crystallography approaches.
- Expertise in the latest cryo-EM image processing software such as, RELION, cryoSPARC etc.
- The candidate is expected to collaborate with x-ray crystallographers and other structural biologists of the institute, and hence an understanding of x-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy is desired.
Job Specification – The candidate shall use CryoEM methods to study the structure
and/or dynamics of biological molecules, like proteins, nucleic acids and their complexes. The successful candidate shall generate internal and extramural funding for the maintenance of the existing machine and procurement of new ones as needed. The successful candidate shall develop a network and other academic collaborations as needed to utilize the CryoEM facilities in the neighbouring and other national facilities.

Desirable Experience –
- Expertise in small RNA-mediated gene regulation field particularly in the domain of intercellular transfer of small RNA with evidenced experience in establishing biochemical and cellular assay systems. The high-quality research works should be evidenced by high impact publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Job Specification – The candidate is expected to conduct independent research in the field of extracellular miRNAmediated gene regulation process in the context of Cancer or Metabolic Disorders or Host-pathogen interaction
