Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a duration of one year, extendable for an additional duration based on satisfactory performance of the incumbent and also the continuation of the project.

General Information/Details about the post:

1. The appointment is temporary and will terminate automatically with no compensation or notice on the Conclusion of this project.
2. The appointed person will have no claim of appointment/absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
3. The appointment of this applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly relevant to the said project
4. The qualification prescribed ought to have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
5. The prescribed educational qualification is the bare minimum and mere possession of
   the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. Where the number of
   applications received in response to this advertisement are large, it may not be
   convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendations
   of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the number of
   candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit after taking into
   consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in
   the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all
   the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.
6. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification and/ or experience of the applicant can be Considered for applicants having qualifications and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.
7. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.

Emoluments:

1. PA-I:- Rs. 25000/- + 24% HRA per month
2. JRF:– Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA per month based on valid CSIR/ UGC-JRF/ NET/ GATE/ Qualified National Level Test conducted by Central Govt. Depts. and also their agencies Or equivalent scorecard

Essential Qualifications & Experience: M.Sc. or M.Tech in Life sciences/ Biotechnology with Microbiology as one of the subjects with minimal 70% marks/ equivalent grade. Additional percentage cut-off and/ or qualification/ experience criteria will certainly be applied during the screening process if needed.

Preference:

• Candidates ought to have research experience of at least 6 months in molecular microbiology with basic molecular biology experimental skills, protein purification and also quantification skills.
• Experience during the M.Sc./ M.Tech final-year project work can additionally be taken into consideration. A strong interest in bacterial cell biology and genetics.
