Applications are welcomed from citizens of India for filling the following temporary position for a sponsored research project in the field of RNA biology of diseases undertaken jointly in the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER-Kolkata and Institute of Pulmocare and Research, Kolkata. The position is for a period of 1 Year. Candidates enthusiastic concerning research in the field of RNA and translational research are encouraged to apply. Name of the Project: Project name and agency: Determination of circulating microRNA signatures of common respiratory diseases: A pilot study.
Funding Agency: Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal.
Funding agency : DBT, Govt. of India.
Nature and Duration of Appointment: Applications are invited for Project-Associate I position in the group of Dr Rituparna Sinha Roy, at IISER Kolkata. The position is available till August 17th, 2021 based on the performance as well as the availability of funds.

Basic Job Description: The chosen applicant would certainly be expected to work both at a clinical and research laboratory setting and travel between them. The work would certainly involve collecting and documenting patient samples, RNA isolation from patient samples and determination of microRNAs using Next-Gen Sequencing and quantitative RT-PCR techniques. The applicant would additionally be encouraged to actively associate with and learn from various other work in the clinic and the lab.
Minimum Eligibility: M.Sc. in biochemistry/ molecular biology/ biotechnology/ microbiology or equivalent. Applicants with experience in working with RNA and/or clinical samples would certainly be preferred.
Salary: Rs. 18,700.00 each month for 12 months.
