Position: Project Associate I

Name of the Project: “Mitigation of humanelephant conflict in and around Rajaji Tiger Reserve with emphasis on mitigation strategies during Kumbh 2021”.

Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on date on Interview.

Period: 12 months

How to Apply:

1. The selection of the applicants will certainly be in accordance with the performance in the interview as well as in the order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents must be produced at the time of the interview. The decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters associating with qualification, work experience, acceptance or rejection of the application will be final as well as binding on the applicants and also no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.
2. The applicants are needed to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying attachments, by e-mail with the subject line: “Mitigation of human-elephant conflict in and around Rajaji Tiger Reserve with emphasis on mitigation strategies during Kumbh 2021” to [email protected] not later on than 1700 hrs on 09th July 2021
3. The application needs to be typed according to the prescribed format and has to be accompanied by:
   (a) Scanned copies of educational qualifications, and also (b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificate, failing which applications will not be taken into consideration.
4. The applications received after the deadline will be rejected by the Institute.
5. The shortlisted candidates will be notified for on-line personal interview. The online interview will be held on 16th July 2021 from 1000 hrs onwards. The selection will be made based upon the online personal interview scheduled on 16th July 2021.
6. At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has actually been made by the candidate to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be taken into consideration.
7. The positions advertised are purely short-term/ contractual for the project duration only and also will stand abolished after completion of the project.
8. The tenure in the project will certainly be governed by the Institute’s guidelines and also regulations.
9. Relaxation in Age will certainly be given as per Govt. of India norms.
10. After the announcement of the results, the applicant needs to join the project immediately.
11. Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete info provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.

Essential Qualification: Minimum of 60 % Marks in M.Sc. in Wildlife Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Life Science and also other biological sciences with minimum 2 years of research experience in a field-based project involving herbivore/ carnivore species.

Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidate ready to carry out rigorous fieldwork under harsh conditions. Prior experience with conflict research as well as publication will certainly be an added advantage.

Work Description: The Project Associate will work with the Subject Matter Specialist, Project Biologist and also the field team to collect field data collection, analyze and write the report for the project and coordinate with concerned officials of Uttarakhand Forest
Department. As required, the Project Associate will certainly additionally aid in the ongoing HEC associated work in this landscape.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA.
