Applications are welcomed for (a) one post of Senior Project Associate, as well as (b) one post of Laboratory Technician in Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project entitled “The Regional Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis (RePORT) India Phase II”. Both posts are totally on a contract basis initially for up to one year, and also may be further extended till project conclusion. Those chosen will have no claim to regular appointment either at PGIMER or under any other research activity.

Remuneration: As per project guidelines (currently Rs. 42,000 + 16% HRA per month).

Essential Qualification:

1. MBBS, BDS, MSc in life sciences or medical laboratory technology, or equivalent.
   from a recognized Indian university; plus a minimum of four years research experience in a medical laboratory or any type of clinical field; or.
2. MD in Microbiology, Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, or equivalent; or.
3. PhD in any clinical or microbiological discipline.

Desirable: At least one original research publication as lead author in an indexed peer-reviewed scientific journal, or experience of dealing with research projects in a supervisory role.

Nature of duty: Overall scheduling and also the management of study-defined activities according to the research protocol; coordinating and implementing all laboratory activities; coordinating and also monitoring patient recruitment, patient consent, as well as collection/transport/storage of clinical samples; completing case record forms based on project SOPs; coordinating project biobank activities; quality assurance; maintaining inventory of equipment and consumables; training and also supervision of other project staff; periodic appraisal as well as analysis of project data; writing of scientific reports as well as research papers; and liaison with various central data management and site coordination committees.
