Applications are invited in the prescribed format attached herewith for the following short-term contract positions for our ad-hoc research projects at ICMR-NIV Bangalore Unit, with
Skype/video call interview/personal discussion. The applications without enclosures in the standard format needs to reach us via e-mail ID: [email protected] up to 05:30 PM on 31.03.2021. The relevant documents need to not be attached at this stage. The appointment to

the respective contract posts will certainly be originally for a period of 6 months which might be further extended according to the requirement if any type of on case to case basis.

For all the contract positions above, it is desirable to possess experience in Govt.,
autonomous, PSU etc. or any other recognized organization and knowledge of computer
applications.

How to Apply:

1. Applicants meeting the age criteria and possessing the required qualifications,

5. Late as well as incomplete applications or applications not submitted in the prescribed format or without photo and also signature will not be considered.
6. The number of vacancies may vary.
7. These positions will certainly be filled up purely for a temporary extramural project for appointment purely on a temporary CONTRACT basis and also co-terminus with the project.
8. The advertised posts are tentative without commitment for their filling. Recruitment will
   depend upon the requirement of the Institute and also the approval of the skilled authority.
9. Emoluments: The rates of emoluments/stipend shown in this advertisement are based on ICMR standards and may vary according to the sanction of ICMR.
10. Age Concession: Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC, Physically
    Handicapped candidates according to the instructions issued by ICMR from time to
    time.
11. The cut-off date for age limitation will certainly be the closing date of applications i.e. 31.03.2021.
12. Reserved category candidates should produce their Caste Validity Certificate. OBC
    candidates should possess the latest valid non-creamy layer certificate. On selection, these might be produced before the joining during document verification.
13. A separate application should be submitted for every post. Engagement of application for a particular position will certainly be determined by the selection committee/ appointing authority.
14. Qualification & experience should remain in a relevant discipline/field and also from an Institution of repute. Experience needs to have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
15. Mere fulfilling the essential/educational qualification does not ensure the selection.
16. Persons already in regular time scale service under any type of Government Department/ Organizations are not eligible to apply.
17. The institute reserves rights to consider or reject any application/candidature.
18. Submission of wrong or false information during the procedure of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any kind of stage.
19. Contract appointee can not be allowed to register for PhD, because of time constraints.
20. Contract appointee will be posted based on the requirement of the Institute. If required, they are liable to serve in any part of the country.
21. Contract appointee will not have any kind of claim on a regular post in this institute or any other ICMR Institute or in any kind of Department of Government of India as well as their contract service will not confer any right for additional assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment/absorption in financing agency or in this institute. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim, etc. are not admissible. An undertaking to that effect should be sent at the time of joining.
22. Initial contract appointment will normally be for a period of six months as well as additionally continuation/ extension of the service will certainly depend on the requirement of the Institute, performance evaluation as well as approval of the skilled authority in case to case basis.
23. In case of selection, an applicant should produce all documents or certificates in original.
    relating to (1) Educational qualifications (2) Date of Birth (3) Experience certificates (4) One current passport size photograph (5) Identification proof i.e. Adhar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License etc. (6) One set of self-attested xeroxes of all documents (7) SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if applicable, for verification at the time of joining the post.
24. Applicants who fail to bring the original certifications at the time of joining and if any discrepancy is found in the documents such applicants will certainly not be permitted to join the chosen contract post, as well as the position, will certainly be offered to the waiting list candidates.
25. Speed test on computer in English will certainly be conducted as qualifying criteria for Contract Data Entry Operator after verification of essential qualification at the time of joining. In case it is not found satisfactory, the offer of appointment will certainly be ended.
26. The Project Investigator and also or Appointing authority reserves the right to end the service of the contract personnel even during the agreed contract duration or extended contract duration without assigning any reason. Leave shall be as per the Institutional policy for contract staff.
27. ICMR-NIV reserves the right to cancel/modify the recruitment procedure any time, during the process, at its discretion.
28. The decision of the Director, NIV will be last and also binding.
29. Canvassing in any type of form will certainly be a disqualification.

Essential Qualification for the NIV Job: Graduate (three years degree) in Science/ relevant subjects with three years of work experience OR Master’s Degree in the relevant subject.

Desirable Qualifications for the NIV Job:

1. B.Sc. Microbiology/Biotechnology/MLT
2. Work experience in diagnostic laboratory/Cell Culture/ ELISA / PCR / sequencing.
3. Knowledge of computer application/report preparation.
