Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Bioinformatician in a collaborative project with Heinrich Heine University, Germany under the supervision of Dr Shijulal Nelson Sathi at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. The candidate is responsible for large scale phylogenomic data analysis and development of applications based on the research projects at the transdisciplinary biology department.

AGE: Below 28 years as on September 04, 2020. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms. For SC/ST & OBC candidates, age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
DURATION: One year or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.
Selection Procedure:
Suitably qualified candidates might send applications in the prescribed format with a photo, a copy of full resume indicating the
percentage of Marks obtained and attested xeroxes of credentials and experience to reach the undersigned only through Email on or prior to September 04, 2020. The Advertisement number in addition to the position for which the applicant is applying must be mentioned in the ‘SUBJECT’ part of the Email. If an applicant wants to make an application for different positions, separate application forms must be submitted for each and every position. Selection to the position will certainly not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). Just like all project positions at RGCB, the position will certainly be co-terminus with the end of the project.Applications which are not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need to apply. Applicants will certainly be shortlisted for the selection interview based upon eligibility criteria. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications as well as performance in the selection interview.
No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the interview.
FELLOWSHIP: Rs. 22,000 each month.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have a BTech or MSc in Bioinformatics with demonstrable programming skills in Perl/Python and R. Expertise on Linux based system, knowledge in shell scripting and working on remote computers is a must.
