Title of the Project: Multiplexed Lateral-flow Device (s) for Detection of COVID-19

Age: Upper age limit is 30 years

* Age limitation for Project Assistant at the level I/II/III/ will be as 28/30/35 years respectively with 5 years relaxation for statutory groups and women.

Duration: The engagement will be initially for a duration of six months which might be extended or curtailed depending on the period

of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will certainly be totally on a short-term basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, short-term or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any kind of right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any type of CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing exact same will certainly not entitle applicants to be called for interview. Where a number of applications received in response to this Notification of engagement are large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may limit the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limitations after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will certainly be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

Emoluments: Rs 31,000

Job requirement: Heterologous protein expression and purification in prokaryotic/eukaryotic systems. Screening of bio-ligands against SARS-COVID19 proteins.
Development of bioassays for rapid detection.

Qualifications:

• Essential: M.Tech/ M.Sc in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Virology or any branch of life sciences from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate) or equivalent CGPA.
• Desirable experience if any: Preference will be given to applicants experience in molecular biology techniques, biochemical assay development, cloning, heterologous protein expression and purification.
