Sydney Scholars India Scholarship

Background:

The Sydney Scholars India Scholarships are given to exceptional international students. The Scholarship is open to all commencing Indian students enrolled full time in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.

Eligibility

a. To qualify for the Scholarship, applicants have to be an international student as described in the Higher Education Support Act 2003. This excludes Australian citizens and permanent home.

b. You have to hold Indian citizenship and be a current resident of India. Proof of residency will be required.

c. The applicant must have applied for but not yet commenced an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in the University of Sydney in the time of application for the award.

d. Applicants commencing a second degree in the University of Sydney are eligible to apply provided they haven’t formerly held The Sydney Scholars India Scholarship

Selection Criteria

a. The Scholarship will be granted on the basis of academic merit and personal statement assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree as well as the details provided in the scholarship application.

b. The Scholarship will be given on the nomination of a selection committee comprising two academic nominees and two non-academic nominees made by the Vice-Principal (External Relations).

Value

a. Three scholarship amounts can be found based on a ranking against selection criteria:

i. $50,000 per annum for any undergraduate degree up to four years or
ii. $20,000 for one semester only, or iii. $10,000 for a single semester only.

b. Applicants should complete the”Acceptance of their Unconditional Admission Offer” by the deadline associated with their scholarship offer round. Failing to do will result in the scholarship offer being rescinded.

c. On the award, the student must remain enrolled at the University of Sydney following census date. Sydney Scholars India Scholarship

d. The payment will be made to the student following the census date of each semester.

e. Deferral or suspension of this Scholarship isn’t allowed.

f. The Scholarship will be provided subject to the availability of funds

g. No additional amount is payable.
