The British East India Company had already established botanical gardens at Sibpur, Poona, Saharanpur and Madras as centres for improving botanical knowledge and experimentation under the local Governments. For example, the Saharanpur botanical garden, which dates from before 1750, was acquired by the East India Company in 1817 for growing medicinal plants. Most of the EIC botanical gardens’ work was for the cultivation of plants of interest in commerce and trade. It is under Ministry of Environment and Forests.

Working Place – Botanical Survey of India, Southern Regional Centre, TNAU Campus, Coimbatore.
Duration – Three Years.
Age Limit – Upper Age limit for general male and female applicants is 25 and 30 years respectively on the date of publication of this advertisement. (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC applicants)
Emoluments – Rs. 18,000 / month – Consolidated.
Qualifications –
Essential – Ist Class Master Degree in Botany / Plant Science / Marine Science / Marine Biology
Desirable – Knowledge & Previous
Experience in Morphological Taxonomy / Molecular Taxonomy / Ecology / Biology of Marine Macro Algae.How to Apply:
