Job Description
The Project Associate will be responsible for analysing genomic sequencing data related to pediatric rare genetic disorders. This role includes working with various sequencing technologies and bioinformatics tools to ensure the accuracy and quality of genetic data. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance research in pediatric genetics and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for genetic disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse genomic sequencing data, including DNA and RNA sequencing.
- Develop and maintain custom bioinformatics pipelines.
- Ensure quality control and data integrity throughout the analysis process.
- Collaborate with researchers to design experiments and interpret results.
- Prepare reports and presentations on research findings.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and genomics.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to research discussions.
Qualifications:

- PhD in Genomics/Bioinformatics/Life Sciences or equivalent degree.
- Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Bioinformatics/Human Genetics from a recognised university with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
- Expertise in analysing genomic sequencing data, including DNA sequencing, RNASeq, and whole-genome sequencing data.
- Familiarity with genomic databases, standard protocols, and pipelines.
- Ability to develop custom pipelines and mastery over tools like FastQC, Trimmomatic, and HISAT2.
- At least 2 years of experience in Molecular/Cell Biology, Sanger analysis, and NGS Analysis is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of current trends in genomics and bioinformatics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
